Finance Business Partner Location: West Midlands️ Contract: Temporary (3 months) Salary: £300 per day umbrella / £264.19 PAYE Inclusive / £235.74 PAYE Exclusive️ Start Date: ASAPContact: rachel.burgess@servicecare.org.uk Job DescriptionService Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands for a Finance Business Partner to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing expert guidance on areas including VAT, collection fund accounting, statutory accounts, and financial planning—ensuring robust financial management and value for money.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver expert technical accounting support, including statutory accounts, VAT, and collection fund management, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice Provide high-quality financial advice, insight, and challenge to senior stakeholders to support decision-making, planning, and service delivery Lead on financial governance, internal controls, and audit support, ensuring strong financial stewardship across services Develop and maintain financial models, business cases, and forecasting tools to identify savings opportunities and support strategic initiativesCandidate CriteriaCCAB/CIMA qualified (or actively studying), with strong technical accounting expertise including IFRS and financial reporting Proven experience as a Financial Reporting Accountant or similar role, ideally within a public sector or local authority setting Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and statutory reporting requirements Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at a senior levelIf you are interested in the role, or know of anyone who could be, please contact Rachel at Service Care Solutions on 01772 208969 or email rachel.burgess@servicecare.org.ukService Care Solutions also offers a £250 referral bonus!
