Role Summary:

We are seeking a Finance Coordinator to join our team! The Finance Coordinator will work closely with a small, dynamic finance team to support day-to-day treasury, finance, and accounting functions. The successful candidate will be integral to the month and quarter-end close processes, handling tasks such as documentation, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance & Accounting and is located in our New York office.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
  • Journal Entries & General Ledger: Prepare and record journal entries; assist in maintaining the general ledger.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Support the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Financial Record Maintenance: You will handle data entry and the upkeep of financial records, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Film Cost Budgeting: Assist in setting up and analyzing film cost budgets.
  • Accounting Reconciliations: Maintain and update ongoing reconciliations and roll forwards; book reclasses and accruals for quarter-end close.
  • Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and assistance during audits.
  • Tax Preparation: Set up 1099 tax files on an annual basis.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Perform other administrative and project-based tasks as needed.

Requirements

Here's What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting principles and procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organization Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • MS Office Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting software is a plus. We need someone who can confidently use formulas and perform data analysis.
  • ERP Software: Experience with ERP accounting software, particularly Sage Intacct, is preferred. If you're already familiar with it, that's a bonus!
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues.

Compensation:

New York State Annual Pay Transparency Range: $50,000 - $60,000. For full-time positions, this pay range is base per annum; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as location, candidate's job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience, the level of specialization needed for the role, budget constraints, and local market conditions.
