The Center for Sleep Medicine is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for our Naperville and Orland Park, IL office. This position is responsible for overseeing accounting coordinators, billing manager, and finance and revenue cycle operations across our organization. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement, managing the billing and finance departments, invoice tracking and payments, and supporting excellent patient service while maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.Reporting to the SVP, the Finance Manager partners closely with clinical operations, scheduling, shipping, and leadership to support financial performance and continuous improvement.Work hours: Monday - Thursday 8 am to 6 pm.Key Responsibilities:Work closely with and oversee billing manager and accounting coordinators.Assist with long‑term financial plans aligned to business strategyEstablish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and standardized procedures across the company.Lead, mentor, grow and develop finance staff, foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Cycle, Shipping, Scheduling, IT, and all operational leaders.Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to assess organizational health and performance.Provide financial insight and recommendations to senior leadership team.Review and revamp the end‑to‑end revenue cycle strategy with clear KPIs for clean‑claim rate, days in A/R, denial rate, cash collection, and yield; review trends and drive continuous performance improvement in billing department.Lead accounting coordinator team to manage invoices and payables.Implement denial prevention and recovery programs to reduce avoidable write‑offs and improve first‑pass resolution.Coordinate responses to auditor requests and ensure timely resolution of findings.Manage key external relationships, including banking partners and vendors.Working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 as applicable to sleep studies and DME; collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation supports billed services.Maintain working knowledge of commercial and Medicare billing guidelines.Monitor fee schedules, reimbursement trends, and out‑of‑pocket pricing.Collaborate with leadership to identify revenue improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.Work with billing manager to:Ensure accurate and timely revenue cycle operations.Oversee insurance verification, authorizations, and patient eligibility processesSubmit insurance claims and manage follow‑up, appeals, and additional documentation.Process insurance and patient payments and manage refunds as neededTrack and improve Days in A/R, % A/R > 90 days, denial rate, appeal overturn rate, clean claim rate, cash collections.Respond to patient billing inquiries with professionalism and strong customer service.Maintain accurate payment documentation for accounting and audit purposes.Review payer payments for underpayments and support contract variance follow-up/escalations.Create and distribute weekly billing and revenue cycle reports.Assist with payer credentialing and maintain EMR and EDI accuracy.Ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is requiredStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and experience with EDI/ERA workflows; experience with Aprima preferred but not necessary.Three to five years of healthcare billing or revenue cycle experience required.Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
