The Dixon Group is looking for a Finance Project Manager to join our team in Chestertown, MD! This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys improving processes, leading meaningful projects, and working closely with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, and IT to deliver real business impact. The Finance Project Manager will help transform a strong accounting organization into a more scalable, efficient, and world-class finance operation. This is a highly visible individual contributor role that combines finance knowledge, project leadership, ERP experience, and process improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead finance and accounting-related projects including ERP improvements, reporting enhancements, and workflow redesign
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, and IT teams to drive structured project execution
  • Improve finance processes, reduce manual work, and help standardize workflows across the organization
  • Support financial planning, analysis, and ad hoc reporting initiatives
  • Develop clear process documentation, SOPs, and training materials
  • Assist with financial modeling, trend analysis, and profitability analysis
  • Help drive innovation and continuous improvement across finance operations

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of experience in finance, accounting operations, project management, or ERP related roles
  • Experience working with accounting or financial systems (ERP experience preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
  • Experience writing procedures, documentation, or business workflows
  • Self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Hands-on individual contributor who enjoys solving problems and improving processes
  • Strong business acumen with experience supporting finance or accounting teams
  • Team player who communicates well across departments
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
