The Village of Shorewood is seeking a Finance Specialist to play a key role in keeping our community running smoothly. This full‑time position supports everything from accounts payable and receivable to bank reconciliations and monthly journal entries—helping ensure the Village’s financial operations are accurate, efficient, and well‑managed. If you’re looking to turn your finance skills into community impact this may be the job for you! What You’ll Do Oversees tax collection, prepares journal entries, performs account reconciliations, and completes financial reporting and analysis. Oversees accounts payable functions, including invoice entry and review, vendor and payment processing, general ledger clearing, and more. Oversees the accounts receivable process, including billing and invoice coordination, collection activities, application of interest and penalties, and other related tasks. Coordinates and maintains the Village’s budget process. Reviews cash and credit card batches, handles sales tax reporting, provides backup for Treasurer, and assists with other Village Hall tasks. What We’re Looking For An Associate’s Degree in accounting or a minimum of three years of experience in municipal finance or accounting. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment. Experience working with BS&A applications is preferred. Benefits Available To You This is a non‑exempt position with an hourly pay range of $24.34 – $34.07. The Village offers a competitive benefits package including: Comprehensive Paid Time Off: 10 prorated PTO days, plus 11 paid holidays with 2 paid floating holidays.
