Job Summary
This position will be an integral part of the team that provides financial analysis for the Non sales teams. It requires planning, prioritizing, and coordinating entire processes without supervision. Specifically, this position provides monthly analysis, management-identified metrics and end-of-year projections that drive financial accountability. This person will support the team's financial plans by providing tactical and strategic financing assumptions. This position will provide support in documenting and assuring that internal controls are operating effectively. Other duties could include reconciling accounts, researching accounting issues, executing, and testing internal controls, working with internal and external auditors and maintaining appropriate documentation. This position will be responsible for meeting established reporting deadlines.
Job Requirements
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related degree required.
- At least five years of experience in financial and accounting disciplines, including financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting. 7+ years of experience is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and utility accounting including knowledge of accounting practices including accruals and financial income statements.
- Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to accuracy and detail and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously and produce timely results in response to frequently changing business needs.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products is required and knowledge of Company financial applications (PowerPlan, CSS, Oracle Programs, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to interact with databases and develop ad hoc reports.
- Compiling and reporting monthly analysis, projections, management-identified metrics, and end-of-year projections that drive financial accountability.
- This position is also responsible for effective communication of budgets, projections, initiatives, and results to management.
