Smithville Communications —Indiana’s trusted, locally owned provider of Internet, Voice, Security, and Enterprise data services- is looking for a full-time Financial Analyst to join us onsite. The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing timely and accurate information so business decisions can be made with confidence. In this position, the Financial Analyst will provide accurate financial information to decision-makers on variances, product line development, pricing reviews, and answer questions for the leadership team.

The Financial Analyst will understand revenue trends, make critical decisions on project charters and financials, assess pricing changes, and provide input for product development. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Financial Analysis (30%)
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting the monthly financial slide deck
• Develop cost estimates for fiber to the premise and commercial business projects (25%) 
• Lead the development of the Annual Budget (15%)
  • Build cross-functional relationships with stakeholders throughout the company
• Research competitors, market trends, and support new product development (15%) 
• Perform budget and forecast analysis (10%)
  • Provide insight into variances
• Complete projects from the CFO and Controller (5%) 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is 100% on-site at our corporate headquarters in Ellettsville, Indiana, and is largely performed in an office setting and includes regular use of a computer, phone, standard office equipment and may handle materials up to 15 pounds.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 
• 2-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting position. 
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization.
• Advanced user of Excel and proficient with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate financial information to internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of databases and how they function. 
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
• Ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments. 
• Good project management skills; ability to work to deadlines. 
• An understanding of the telecommunications industry is a plus!
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
