Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Analyst to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop professional skills in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, to the general ledger during the month-end close.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable keeping each up to date with daily invoice entry and payment application.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in budget and forecast preparation and perform variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies.
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing workpapers and providing documentation.
  • Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Participate in efforts to improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally including experience with month-end close processes.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
    • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
