The Family Office is a financial and asset management team supporting generations 2-4 of a North Bethesda, MD-based family whose principal asset is a real estate development firm. The family actively leads the company which was founded by the first generation in 1947 and has an extensive history of entrepreneurial success in commercial and residential real estate development in the DMV (Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia) and Delaware regions. The family and their related enterprises are growth-oriented, long-term focused, and care deeply about their impact on the people and families across their ecosystem. The current generations continue to build on the family’s legacy of substantial commitment to philanthropy, not only financially but also with their time and leadership. The Family Office consists of a small and collaborative team supporting all financial and administrative aspects of the family and their related non-corporate entities and trusts including underlying investments. Individuals on the team wear multiple hats across all aspects of accounting, finance, and administrative roles and are passionate about contributing to the overall vision of the family.The Financial Analyst will have primary responsibility for two investment portfolios: an investment vehicle for the Family and a private foundation. The Family Fund is focused on managing and growing a diversified portfolio of investments outside the Family’s primary operating company. With this portfolio they seek to optimize long-term financial growth through investments in real estate, private equity, venture capital, and public markets. The Family Fund is led by a third-generation family member and governed by a Committee including family and independent advisers. The private foundation is a philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting nonprofit initiatives that enhance communities through grantmaking, education, and strategic investments. The foundation prioritizes high-impact, mission-driven opportunities that align with its core values of community development, social responsibility, and sustainability. The foundation has a small staff independent of the Family Office and is governed by a board which includes two family members and an independent adviser.Responsibilities:Portfolio Reporting and OversightMaintain documentation of and compliance with Family Fund asset allocation targets and investment policies approved by the Fund CommitteeAssist in the development of specific investment strategies to optimize portfolio growth and risk managementEnsure alignment of private foundation’s investments with asset allocation targets, community development and philanthropic goals established by the foundation boardOversee management and issuance of performance reporting for portfolios of the Family Fund and foundation (the platform is Addepar and is managed through an outsourced administrator)Financial ModelingConduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling for potential investments across multiple asset classes, including real estate, private equity, venture capital, and public marketsAnalyze impact investments and other mission-driven investment opportunities to quantify and present their suitability for the foundationDue Diligence and AnalysisPerform due diligence on new investment opportunities, including market research, risk assessment, and financial statement analysisPrepare investment memos and presentations for review by family, Fund Committee, and boardInvestment OversightMonitor existing investments by tracking performance and updates through regular conversations with investment managers, market participants and other stakeholdersCompile, analyze and present performance information for presentation to family, Fund Committee and boardPresent updates on the portfolio to family, Fund Committee, and board for purposes of discussion and decision-makingFamily Office IntegrationCollaborate with external partners, advisors, and investment managers of the family officeMarket and Industry EngagementStay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and industry developmentsRepresent the family and foundation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, enhancing family’s visibility and reputation in the investment communitiesRequirements:·      Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field·      2-5 years of experience in investment analysis, private equity, asset management, or a similar role·      Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills·      Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and investment research tools·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills·      Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously·      Experience with foundation/endowment investments or impact investing is a plus·      Experience using Addepar or other portfolio reporting platform is a plus·      MBA and/or CFA designation preferredCompensation: $100,000-125,000 per yearPlus bonus, 401k & health benefits
