Financial Controller (Construction Industry) Heritage Systems, Inc. is seeking a detail oriented, strategy focused Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive financial accuracy. Key Responsibilities Financial Control and Reporting Own the timely and accurate generation of all financial statements, ensuring adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements. Establish and enforce internal controls, workflows, and process documentation to ensure data integrity and prevent financial errors. Assist with and oversee payroll, AP/AR, tax filings, and the external audit process. Strategic Forecasting and Analysis Convert strategic direction into reliable budgets and forecasts, providing forward‑looking financial visibility for executive decision‑making. Partner with operations (Estimating, Project Management) to track and analyze job cost variance, project margin performance, and cost efficiencies. Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to ensure sufficient liquidity for growth. Team and Leadership Development Recruit, coach, and evaluate accounting personnel, building a highly disciplined and professional finance team. Lead executive analysis and resolution of complex financial, tax, or systems issues. Reinforce the company's core values of Integrity, Accountability, and Balance through financial systems and decisions. Qualifications Proven success as a Financial Controller or Senior Accounting Executive in a commercial construction or project‑driven environment. Experience with full cycle accounting, GAAP expertise, and Balance Sheet/Income Statement ownership for companies in the $20-50 million revenue range. Strong command of financial control design, strategic budgeting, forecasting, and job costing/WIP reporting. Demonstrated ability to build and lead a finance team with clarity, accountability, and professionalism. Track record of managing external audits efficiently and strengthening relationships with banks and financial partners. High integrity, flexibility, versatility, disciplined leadership style, and passion for continuous improvement in financial systems.
