Job Description: As a Financial Controller, you will serve as the lead accounting executive responsible for overseeing all financial activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting within an organization. Your role involves managing financial planning, budgeting, accounting operations, and internal controls to support strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or relevant regulatory standards.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads and senior management to develop financial plans aligned with organizational goals.
    • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  3. Accounting Operations Management:

    • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  4. Risk Management and Internal Controls:

    • Assess financial risks and implement risk management strategies to mitigate exposures.
    • Monitor and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  5. Audit Coordination and Compliance:

    • Coordinate external audits, reviews, and tax filings with auditors and regulatory authorities.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.
  6. Financial Systems and Technology:

    • Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve financial reporting capabilities.
    • Stay updated on technological advancements and best practices in financial management and reporting.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and accountability.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform their roles effectively and meet organizational objectives.
