Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Financial Controller with a background in healthcare, specifically hospital operations, to oversee and manage our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting, a strong understanding of hospital financial processes, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with regulations, improving financial performance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage hospital accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulations regarding financial reporting and hospital operations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, cost management, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and optimize resource allocation.
  • Prepare detailed financial statements, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and board meetings.
  • Manage audits, both internal and external, and implement necessary process improvements to ensure compliance.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to hospital-specific accounting standards and healthcare financial practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management within a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Proven expertise in hospital financial processes, including cost reporting and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proficient in financial management software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be a local resident of Arizona.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with healthcare financial software systems.
  • Familiarity with state and federal hospital compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality of care.
