Position OverviewNextStep Technology, Inc. is seeking a Financial Management Analyst to support government programs by applying sound financial management principles, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, and providing analytical support for budgeting and execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in federal financial processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support program and leadership decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesApply fundamental principles of Government financial management to support program execution and complianceUtilize and interpret DoD regulations and systems, including:DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR)Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)DoD Foreign Clearance GuideDefense Agencies Initiative (DAI)Defense Travel System (DTS)Prepare and manage military funding documents, including:Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs)Contractual Purchase Requests (PR&Cs)Manage and track Government and civilian travel in accordance with applicable regulationsProcess Government equipment purchase requests and ensure proper documentation and funding alignmentConduct financial data analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-makingSupport the budget process, including Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Execution (PPBE) and POM developmentPrepare financial reports and executive-level briefings for leadershipEnsure compliance with federal financial policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related fieldStrong financial data analysis expertiseExperience supporting budget processes and POM developmentExperience preparing financial reports and executive-level briefingsKnowledge of:DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR)Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)DoD Foreign Clearance GuideDefense Agencies Initiative (DAI)Military funding documents (MIPRs, PR&Cs)Defense Travel System (DTS)Experience managing and tracking Government and civilian travelExperience processing MIPRs, PR&Cs, and Government equipment purchase requestsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word)Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with government and military testing terminologyExperience supporting the JT&E (Joint Test & Evaluation) communityUnderstanding of military culture and operationsAdvanced skills in MS Word; familiarity with MS Publisher and Adobe AcrobatWhy Join NextStep Technology?Opportunity to support impactful government programsCollaborative and mission-driven environmentCompetitive compensation and benefits
