Fire Protection Systems Engineer ( Fire Protection Engineer, Fire Suppression Systems Engineer, Fire Safety Engineer ) :
- Conduct fire risk analysis and develop safety ( fire protection and emergency evacuation ) concepts for passenger trains ( passenger railcars / rail vehicles )
- Create relevant system design specifications for other engineering teams based on local, state and, federal requirements and customer needs
- Approve choice of materials, products and components in regard to fire protection
- Define testing and commissioning procedures and documentation
- Compile and maintain fire protection documentation for regulatory agencies and customers
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline ( Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc)
- Previous experience with fire protection systems in railway, defense, aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding / naval engineering, nuclear / powerplant construction, industrial construction, or similar industries
- Experience with relevant industry standards like National Fire Protection Associations NFPA 130 Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems
