First Mate PositionPosition Summary: The First Mate is responsible to assist the Captain to safely moor, operate and maintain company vessels. Assist passengers in loading and unloading safely and provide excellent customer service to all guests / passengersResponsibilities:Know your work schedule and follow it with a high degree of reliability.Interact with passengers/guests, vendors, and co-workers in a professional and customer service manner.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.Perform your job according to standard operating procedures.Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.Responsible for the safety of passengers and adherence to the agreed upon the ScheduleAssist in all aspects of vessel operations and maintenance, including maintaining cleanliness of all areas of the vessel and dock as directed by the CaptainPromptly report accidents, injuries, and property damage per U.S.C.G regulations at the direction of the CaptainConduct daily checks of navigational equipment as directed by the CaptainKeep accurate communication flowing freely between Beachside Management and Ship CrewInform management promptly of any weather, maintenance, out of service situations or guest complaints as directed by the Captain.Promote excellent guest service while "taxing" by demonstrating friendly, courteous and helpful attitudes toward all guests/passengers.Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.Attend any trainings as requested by the Captain.Continue to learn and grow in your position.Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by the Captain.Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities.Assist person(s) with a disability.Comply with all applicable federal, state, local and U.S.C.G laws and ordinances as they apply to the vessel, guest's and employees.Essential Job Functions:Safely assist the operation of the Boat in accordance with US Coast Guard regulationsPre and post safety and engine checks at the start and end of every shift as directed by the CaptainAssist passengers on and off ShipSecure vessel for safe underway operations. Rig and handle mooring linesGreet all guests upon arrival and departure. Engage in conversation about Key West and the Beachside Resort during transportAssist Captain in maintenance of required log dataResponsible to refuel and schedule pump outs as needed as directed by the CaptainObtain a valid First Aid/CPR Card within 30 days of employmentQualifications RequiredEducation: High School graduate or GEDExperience: Previous experience as a passenger vessel Mate required.Must possess a valid Driver's LicenseMust be willing to work flexible hoursLicenses or Certificates: Valid Driver's License
