Position Profile: The Washington State School for the Blind has a Fiscal Analyst 2 position open. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Business & Finance, performs specialized accounting activities in accounts payable and receivable systems; monitors, reviews, audits the accounting or fiscal aspects of contracts or grants to ensure contractual fiscal or grant compliance; trains and develops fiscal related professional staff in financial methods and procedures; manages the fiscal year-end closing and related adjustments; and serves as back-up for payroll system entry and processing. Prepares and analyzes comprehensive and complex financial data to determine their significance; and conducts fiscal research and studies to determine appropriate trends, developments or procedures.
- A Bachelor's degree with eighteen quarter or twelve semester hours of college-level accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one to two years of Professional experience. Professional experience may substitute for education (typically this is not usually for the credit hours).
- Knowledge and experience with payables processing.
- Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to process financial data, account receivable transactions and some payroll processing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines, and monitor process task order to maintain workflow.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to apply problem-solving skills to issues as they arise.
- Ability to prepare various reports by locating required information and developing text and presentations through the use of appropriate software.
- Ability to process payroll-related documents through the use of appropriate databases.
- Excellent knowledge of/training in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, QuickBooks, HRMS (payroll system) and state systems.
- One year experience in payables processing with the State of WA.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to process transactions accurately.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and state employer tax preparation and reporting.
- Ability to pass the criminal background check
