The YMCA of Central Texas is currently seeking Fitness Consultants for the Highland Lakes YMCA. The Fitness Consultant creates a safe environment while welcoming, connecting and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals. Candidate must have good customer service skills with a good working knowledge of cardio and weight equipment. Available Shifts : Evening Shift Essential Functions Assists with tours responsive to the needs of prospective members Assist participants with cardio and/or weight equipment Shares fitness program information with members, using available tools and resources Communicates with members and program participants while building relationships in support of their individual needs Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants Actively participates in maintaining equipment sanitation standards Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age Must possess High school diploma or equivalent Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, on weekends, and some evenings Must be reliable with a good attendance record Have a neat appearance and be well-groomed Have a good knowledge of fitness and wellness Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations Be willing to uphold the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check Pay Rate $13.00 to $14.00/hour About Us We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas Counties.
