Duties

  • Establishes employee work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals.
  • Assists in the development of budgetary and manpower requirements and recommends adjustments due to changes in program demands or hours of operation.
  • Maximizes facility usage for both organized functions and individual development.
  • Oversees facility cleanliness contracts and standard operating procedures.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation as well as State Criminal History Repository checks.
  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
  • Physical is required for moderate to heavy lifting.

Qualifications

  • Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
  • Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities.
    • The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package.
  • Possession of a spin certification (Mad Dog, Kieser, or AFAA) or Yoga 200+hr certification
  • Possession of Functional Movement Certification
  • Possession of a current CPR/AED/First Aid & Bloodborne Pathogen Certification
  • Candidates with a minimum of 2yrs work experience of sports & events coordinating to include: score keeping, scheduling, & administrative duties (such as after-action reports, marketing requests, point of sale, route mapping & event layout planning, etc.)
    • You may substitute 1yr of work experience with participation/volunteer experience in sports/event coordinating if it was at varsity, collegiate, or Parks & Recreation/Installation MWR adult intramural level.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives may be paid.
  • Up to 25% recruitment or relocation and/or a retention incentive may be authorized.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
  • Eligible for 1.69% COLA. Subject to change at any time.
