Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview 

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Veltri, Inc.’s fleet operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards. This leadership role involves managing vehicle maintenance, driver performance, vendor relationships, and leveraging technology to optimize operations. 


Key Responsibilities 

  1. Fleet Strategy & Optimization 
  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. 
  • Optimize routes and dispatch trucks for operational effectiveness. 
  1. Maintenance Oversight 
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to reduce downtime. 
  • Ensure compliance with warranty, recalls, and preventive maintenance programs. 
  1. Vendor & Contract Management 
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors for maintenance, repairs, and parts. 
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance. 
  1. Driver Performance & Safety 
  • Monitor driver logs, hours of service, and safety records such as pre and post trip inspections. 
  1. Compliance & Documentation 
  • Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and other legal requirements. 
  • Maintain accurate records for registrations, insurance, and maintenance. 
  1. Technology & Data Management 
  • Utilize fleet management platforms such as FLeetio, TMWISAAC SolutionsSkyBitzLytxEFS, and BestPass
  • Track and analyze fleet performance metrics (fuel consumption, maintenance costs, downtime). 
  1. Budget & Reporting 
  • Prepare and manage the fleet budget. 
  • Generate reports on fleet operations and performance for Executive Leadership
  1. Team Leadership 
  • Manage and mentor fleet staff at various facilities, including dispatchers and maintenance personnel. 
  • Collaborate with OperationsFleetAccountingHRSafety, and Executives to streamline processes. 

 


Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; High School Diploma/GED required. 
  • Experience: 5+ years in fleet management, preferably in the trucking industry. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fleet management software (Fleetio, TMW, SkyBitz, ISAAC Solutions, EFS, BestPass, and other maintenance systems), Microsoft 365 Business (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint), and knowledge of DOT regulations. 
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on attention to detail. 

 


KPIs & Performance Metrics 

  • Fleet Uptime: Maintain 95% operational availability. 
  • Maintenance Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to preventive maintenance schedules. 
  • Cost Efficiency: Achieve targeted cost-per-mile benchmarks. 
  • Safety Compliance: Zero DOT violations and maintain top safety scores. 
  • Vendor Performance: Meet negotiated service-level agreements consistently.
