The salary for this positions starts at $80,000 but is open to negotiation with the correct experience, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity. 

Position Overview:

Oversees the company’s fleet to ensure safe, compliant and cost effective operations and manages vehicle maintenance, utilization, compliant and vendor relationships to support efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises mechanics and maintenance shops for all locations (Newbury & Oakwood).
  • Manages mechanics and their daily duties.
  • Services fleet equipment and vehicles.
  • Trains shop mechanics, as needed.
  • Acts as lead technician, including troubleshooting, problem‑solving, quality control, electrical repair, and diagnostics.
  • Prepares and tracks stock orders and inventory.
  • Heads the roadside assistance and on‑site repair program.
  • Manages online repair logs and GPS maintenance logs.
  • Maintains and updates the Company Quartermaster system.
  • Manages company fleet license plates and renewals.
  • Ensures company fleet meets insurance regulations (insurance cards in all vehicles, adding new vehicles to insurance plans, etc.).
  • Conducts Spring & Fall asset inventory.
  • Manages mechanic hours and overtime.
  • Works with outside vendors to assist with excessive repairs.
  • Manages budgets for all mechanical and equipment repairs.
  • Completes annual reviews for all direct reports.
  • Visits and maintains presence at both locations (Newbury & Oakwood).
  • Works with mechanic team to ensure cleanliness of bays at both locations.
  • Communicates vehicle and equipment issues to Senior Leadership.
  • Negotiates with vendors for best pricing.
  • Approves all purchase orders related to repairs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • High school diploma or GED required; A.S.E. certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing fleet maintenance operations, mechanics, vendors, and repair programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair best practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and mechanical documentation, manuals, and journals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership, employees, customers, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
  • Proven ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Solid mathematical skills, including the ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
  • Proficiency with computers and technology, including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Above‑average proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with QuickBooks or similar financial systems preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50–70% of the time.
