The Common Market is searching for an innovative and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our distribution efforts and ensure the seamless flow of local food from farmers to our customers. As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our food distribution network, focusing on providing high-quality, fresh local products to schools, hospitals, and community organizations across the Southeast (Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina).

You will play a pivotal role in expanding our network and improving our logistics, contributing to our mission of building a sustainable local food economy. Join us in making healthy food accessible and supporting local farmers!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the logistics and distribution of food products from the farm to the customer
  • Develop and implement efficient processes to enhance order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of products
  • Supervise a team of distribution staff, providing training and support to foster a positive work environment
  • Collaborate with local farmers, suppliers, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships and ensure product quality
  • Monitor compliance with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Analyze performance metrics and seek opportunities for continuous improvement in operations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in food distribution or logistics management

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed
