That's Perdue.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for staying audit-ready year-round by ensuring programs are updated, trainings are conducted, and all relevant audit requirements are met for audits such as BRC, Organic, etc.Manage the QA technicians across all shifts including hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department.Monitoring Inbound & Outbound temperatures and verifying QA technician's checks to ensure frequencies are being met.Monitoring/Verifying various aspects of Food Safety and Quality Assurance in accordance with specifications including, but not limited to, customer-specific temperature expectations, box quality checks, cooler temperature checks, loading dock condition & temperatures, pre-pack product loaded on trailers, damaged box conditions on inbound & outbound loads, and pallet inspections.Conducting GMP audits.Conducting routine label verifications to ensure labels contain all relevant and regulatory information.Verifying Master Case Tares daily to ensure packaging accuracy.Conducting cold chain product temperatures at each line.Verifying thermometer calibration in accordance with the site's food safety program.Ensuring pre-shipment verifications are conducted in accordance with the site's HACCP plan.Excellent organizational skills including time management and priority setting.Minimum EducationBachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or an Agribusiness related major.Experience Requirements5 years' experience in the food industry required, poultry strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of (and/or certifications in) food safety and all applicable regulations as required.5 years' experience managing requirements around verification programs; NAE, NGMO., Gluten Free, BRC, SQF, HACCP, etc.Substantial experience in Food Safety/Quality and/or Regulatory relations with a minimum of 2 years in progressive management role.5 years with direct customer interface and support around Quality and Food Safety.Extensive Regulatory (USDA) engagement experience.Experience PreferredThorough understanding of HACCP and GFSI programs/audit schemesExperience developing and maintaining company records relating to process workflows, USDA, FDA, and other regulatory organizations.Robust knowledge and experience with the application of intervention systems to reduce microbial load and risk throughout poultry processing.Ability to effectively articulate and present the company's Food Safety and Quality strategy as it relates to senior management, regulatory bodies, customers and copackers.Proven ability to operate successfully in a rapidly growing organization, inclusive of demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts in addressing regulatory issues. Ability to formulate solutions from a broad perspective.Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPosition is partially sedentary but will require frequent visits to the replenishment center floor and occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.When in a plant environment:Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.May need to climb ladders.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.Perdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
