Food Safety Specialist Apply
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM, with additional overtime as needed.Job Summary:In this supporting role, you will assist the Food Safety Manager in carrying out day-to-day food safety activities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Food Safety Specialist focuses on the consistent execution of daily audits, accurate recordkeeping, and supporting programs that uphold the company’s food safety culture and certification requirements.Duties/Responsibilities:· Perform daily GMP audits on the floor and around the facility (fruit, employees, machinery, equipment, materials, bins, trash, etc.).· Assist with the Environmental Monitoring Program by helping collect swabs and samples for monthly monitoring.· Upload swab and testing analysis records into database.· Graph trends from testing data to identify potential issues.· Report food safety concerns promptly to the Food Safety Manager.· Review food safety and sanitation documents.· Scan and upload completed and verified records.· Act as primary training backup for the Food Safety Manager for all Food Safety Training topics.· Assist with verification checks and sign-offs.· Monitor employee training records and help schedule refresher trainings.· Maintain chemical inventory records for all areas (Janitorial, Chemical Storages, Maintenance Shop, Processing).· Assist in reviewing pest control trends and reports.· Handle critical recordkeeping, filing, and documentation tasks.· Support the Food Safety Manager in Mock Recalls and Traceability requests.· Perform other duties as assigned to support the Food Safety Manager and improve the overall Cobblestone operations.Qualifications/Requirements:· Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred; able to communicate effectively across diverse teams and training settings.· Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, PrimusGFS standards, and other applicable food safety standards.· Knowledge of food safety principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).· Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.· Ability to learn and develop computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Famous ERP Software.· Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of delivering clear food safety messaging to all levels of the organization.· Ethical conduct and alignment with the company’s mission and core values.· Collaborative and team-oriented with a service-driven mindset and the ability to influence and support safe work behaviors.· Adaptable and flexible in duties, schedules, and assignments based on evolving business or operational needs.· Preferred experience of 2/+ years of prior food safety, quality assurance, or agriculture experience.Physical Demands & Abilities:· Ability to sit for extended periods of time working from a computer.· Must be able to work in dynamic environmental conditions, including cold, wet, and humid areas such as packing facilities, processing floors, and outdoor field environments.· Routinely required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, reach, and squat throughout the workday, often while navigating uneven or slippery surfaces.· Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, using proper ergonomic techniques.· Willingness and physical stamina to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, particularly during peak harvest and production periods.· Ability to see clearly and focus on detailed tasks such as using a computer, entering data, while performing repetitive hand movements accurately and consistently.Cobblestone Fruit does not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters, staffing agencies, or other vendors.
