Food Service Floater Temporary Apply
EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking a reliable and flexible ECEAP Food Service Floater to join our team. EPIC is a private, nonprofit organization that has been working hand-in-hand with children and families to provide early childhood educational services that strengthen our Central Washington communities for over 35 years. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the best possible start in life by creating a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with food service operations within our ECEAP program. Your role will involve food preparation, delivery, and clean-up tasks. You will work closely with our Center Manager, Food Service Manager and other staff members to ensure that children receive nutritious meals in a safe and sanitary manner.
Responsibilities
- Timely transport food from vendor's/sponsor's kitchen. This involves using personal vehicle and/or EPIC carts
- Assist with food preparation, including measuring and portioning ingredients
- Prepare and pack meals for delivery to program sites
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed during all food service tasks
- Assist with clean-up tasks, including dishwashing and maintaining a clean food workspace
- Help with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies
- Collaborate with Center Manager, Food Service Manager, and other staff members to implement menu plans and accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies
- Follow program policies and procedures related to food service
- Communicate effectively with program staff and maintain positive relationships with children and families
- Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers/sites, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPICs culture of “See Something, Say Something”.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valis Food Handlers card
- Experience working in a food service or kitchen environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and tasks
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and auto insurance
Pay Level: $17.30 to $17.82 Hourly

Benefits
· 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked
Conditions of Employment:
- Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
- Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
- Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
- Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
- Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
- Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
- Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
- Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
- Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
