The Department of Human Services, Wernersville State Hospital, is seeking full-time Food Service Worker 1s to be a part of our Dietary Team! DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will prepare and serve hot and cold food items and perform cleaning duties in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, and in compliance with applicable health and sanitation regulations. Duties include peeling, dicing and grilling food items; plating salads, desserts and fruit; setting up the serving counter and serving food to consumers; cleaning and sanitizing food preparation equipment and surfaces in the kitchen and dining areas; scraping dishes, presoaking utensils, and operating the dishwasher; and delivering snacks and drinks to our consumers' wards. Additionally, you will complete required written reports to provide food high in quality, prevent food waste, and maintain an established budget.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are second shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating days off, weekends and holidays as assigned, with two (2) 15-minute breaks.
- Overtime as needed
- Work hours and days may change based on operational need.

Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
- This position comes under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
