About the Role:
The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods accurately and promptly. The operator will contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy by assisting with order picking and using RF scanners to track shipments. Safety and compliance with operational protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator supports the overall supply chain process by facilitating smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other Marina equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of Marina operations and inventory management.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating multiple types of Marina forklifts.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced marina
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts in a marina dry stack
- Load and unload boats from the water to the dry stack.
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist with general warehouse duties including inventory management and order preparation.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
