Forklift Operator – Shipping Team $21.73 Hour to train then $23.93 Hour plus shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts Opportunity summary: As Forklift Operator (Checker/Loader) in our busy shipping bay, you will be responsible for operating industrial forklift to track load and/or unload trucks for delivering the units to customers according to their requirements. You will also keep accurate tally of what is shipped to customers. We are a high-volume manufacturing plant and you will be part of a team that loads up to 25 trailers a day. You will also be responsible for all activities associated with safely operating the forklift in addition to participating in cross training efforts and sharing duties with other drivers. This position is Union. We work Monday through Friday with mandatory OT as scheduled. Our plant is not climate controlled. Inspect forklift daily at the start of the shift ensuring all safety features are operational. Complete checklist documenting inspection. Safely track and move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently Assureallmaterialsshippedandwarehousearehandledinamannerthatpreventsdamage Loadandunloadtrucks according to department standards and customer demands. Previous forklift experience in a high-volume high-speed environment preferred Forklift driver certification valid during the last 12 months is preferred, but we will teach you. AbilitytolearnproprietarysoftwareprogramsfortheCorrugatedManufacturingsystems. Must have ability to the basic ability to read and write in English. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, comprehend simple instructions, follow maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Musthaveabilitytoperformbasicarithmeticdealingwithdecimals,fractions,etc. Abilitytoreadatapemeasure. Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithallemployeesandcustomers,both verballyandin writing Mustbeabletomaintaingood attendance. Mustbeavailabletoworkovertimeandweekends or other shifts. Physicaldemandwillincludetheabilitytositforcontinuoushours,stand,walk,bend, kneel, navigate stairs though the entire shift and drive in reverse. Position Starting Pay Rate: $21.73 + shift differential ($0.50 for 2nd shift & $0.65 for 3rd shift) - After training and the probationary period, pay could be between the range of $23.28 and $27.79.
