Foster Care Family Onboarding Specialist Apply
Access Services is hiring a Foster Care Family Onboarding Specialist, who will engage with, support and onboard all potential foster families and respite provider families across the Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley regions. This individual will lead the process of engaging with, answering questions, supporting, onboarding, and providing ongoing support for families from the time of inquiry through the approval process.
The Foster Care Family Onboarding Specialist is a unique role, and key to the impact for both the children we serve, and the provider families who host them. In this position, you'll utilize both relational and organizational skills as you take the lead on supporting, engaging with, and onboarding all potential foster families or respite providers. From their first inquiry through the approval of their home, you'll walk alongside them to help them prepare, complete essential tasks and feel comfortable as they begin this new chapter. Additionally, you'll play a critical role in assisting programs with matching provider families to the right child/children in need of care. You'll get to work with a great team including our Community Liaison and Recruiter role and program teams to create a collaborative approach to best represent Access Services and meet the needs of our community.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with flexibility required occasionally on nights and weekends for program support.
Essential Functions of the Foster Care Family Onboarding Specialist:
- Walk with potential foster families or respite providers through all aspects of the onboarding process, including conducting orientation, home studies and background checks.
- Maintain data files on all applicants in electronic health record.
- Follow up with providers in a consistent bi-weekly schedule to keep them engaged throughout the onboarding process and provide updates and data to leadership.
- Assist with matching provider families to the right children(s) in need of care.
- Partner with Community Liaison and Recruiter and Children’s Respite Coordinator to track and assess trends, complete status check-ins, brainstorm creative solutions and monitor outcomes.
- Remain up to date on regulation updates in accordance with each program supported to ensure we comply.
- Attend community events and actively participate in the recruiting of new provider families.
- Track data of provider families through all steps of onboarding process in database systems.
- Collaborate with Community Liaison, Recruiter, and Children’s Respite Coordinator to track and assess trends, recruitment and onboarding outcomes, and identify potential target audiences to meet current and future needs of program.
- This position requires the ability to travel regularly during a normal workday to successfully carry out the expectations of this position. Therefore, employee will need to drive their personal vehicle and/or an agency owned vehicle to meet these expectations. Employee is expected to always drive safely, meet eligibility criteria outlined in our Motor Vehicle Policy, be available and willing to drive during work schedule, and successfully pass the agency’s substance abuse screening at any time during employment. There may be limited exceptions, which should be identified and worked through with supervisor.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, social work, or related human services degree is preferred, not required.
Experience:
- Two years of related experience is required, preferably focusing on onboarding, customer service, and customer engagement.
- Experience in a social services or nonprofit sector preferred.
- Experience with the foster care system is beneficial to any candidate’s application.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service and engagement skills with staff and the public.
- Excellent organizational, and oral/written communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and appropriate sense of urgency.
- Ability to work independently and effectively handle multiple priorities, and also effectively interact as part of a team.
- Ability to develop positive, creative, and programmatic goals.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations for foster care homes.
- Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to meet with provider families across the Delaware and Lehigh Valley region of southeastern PA, with mileage and tolls reimbursement for work related travel.
