Job Title: FPGA HW Test Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL

Job Description:

  • Test and document world class, innovative designs.
  • This includes implementation of non linear and linear filter algorithms in VHDL, as well as interface definition and implementation to peripherals over standard board level prototcols (SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Design write and run tests on real HW.
  • Debug the design using basic knowledge of VHDL.
  • Use Python to communicate with HW over UART, and to automate testing.
  • Define test criteria and assist with the creation of test plans
  • Document work through written and verbal status reports

  • The Senior HW test engineer will be working in our MR Patient Care group within the Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM).
  • This position is located at our Orlando, FL facility.

We are looking for

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

  • 3+ years of strong, technical experience
  • BS in engineering required
  • Basic Design experience with FPGAs in VHDL (Polarfire, Libero and Synopsis toolset experience a plus).
  • Good understanding of UART, SPI, I2C and common protocols.
  • Experienced using GIT for configuration management.
  • Using Python for HW testing, using for example FTDI serial cables, SPI, or similar.
  • Logic analyzers, Oscilloscopes.
  • Must be able to work closely with board design engineers to ensure functional, electrical and physical design constraints are clearly communicated and mutually agreeable upon.
  • Proven ability with board bring up and troubleshooting activities
  • Proven ability to document engineering analysis and design decisions
  • Technical and conversational English speaking and writing required.
  • Possess strong problem solving skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Medical device experience is a plus.
