Franchise and Corporate Associate Attorney

About the Role:

We are seeking a Franchise and Corporate Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who is looking to build a long-term career in franchise and corporate law within a collaborative yet high-performing environment.

This is a strictly transactional and regulatory position offering meaningful autonomy from the outset. You will take responsibility for an existing client base while also working closely with experienced franchise and corporate attorneys on complex matters. The role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to develop trusted advisor relationships.

Your work will span both franchise and general corporate matters, including:

  • Drafting franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreements
  • Managing state franchise registrations and regulatory compliance
  • Advising franchisors on renewals, transfers, defaults, terminations, and relationship issues
  • Reviewing and negotiating franchise disclosure documents and agreements for franchisees
  • Negotiating commercial leases
  • Supporting franchise acquisitions and sales
  • Handling entity formation and structuring
  • Advising on corporate governance matters
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Assisting with business acquisitions and sales

Franchise law experience is welcome but not required. Candidates without direct franchise experience must have a strong interest in the practice area and be willing to participate in a structured franchise law training program.

About You:

You are a motivated, detail-oriented attorney who enjoys balancing autonomy with collaboration. You are comfortable managing client matters independently while working closely with colleagues on more complex issues.

Qualifications include:

  • Admission to practice in Illinois
  • 2+ years of transactional business or corporate law experience
  • Direct client interaction experience
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • A consistent commitment to quality, responsiveness, and client service

You are interested in building a specialized practice and developing long-term expertise in franchise and corporate law.

Why you Should Join:

This is more than a transactional associate role. It is an opportunity to develop a highly specialized and in-demand skill set in franchise law while maintaining a strong foundation in corporate practice.

By joining us, you will:

  • Step into meaningful responsibility with an existing client base
  • Develop expertise in a niche, nationally relevant area of law
  • Receive structured training in franchise law if you are new to the practice
  • Work in a collaborative environment where your contributions are visible and valued
  • Build direct client relationships early in your career
  • Gain exposure to sophisticated regulatory and transactional work
  • Enjoy billable expectations designed to support a healthy and sustainable work-life balance
  • Be supported by a comprehensive benefits package

This role offers the rare combination of autonomy, mentorship, specialization, and long-term career growth within a stable and forward-looking firm.
