Location: Dunmore, PA

Department: Pulmonology Office


Position Overview:

A busy pulmonology practice in Dunmore, PA is seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing scheduling and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced medical environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Service and Front Desk Support

* Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

*Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquires promptly

* Check patients in and out efficiently

* Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information

* Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations

*Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for patients with respiratory conditions


Appointment Scheduling:

* Schedule new and existing patient appointments

* Coordinate follow- up visits and pulmonary procedures

* Confirm appointments and provide reminder calls

* Manage provider schedules to ensure efficient patient flow

* Handle appointment cancellations and rescheduling


Administrative duties:

* Perform general office tasks including, faxing, scanning, filing and data entry

* Process referrals and ensure required documentation is received

* Assist with insurance verification and prior authorization as needed

* Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record ( EMR) system

* Support physicians and clinical staff with additional administrative tasks


Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Previous medical office or front desk experience preferred

* Strong knowledge of medical terminology (pulmonology experience a plus)

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Proficient in computer systems and EMR software

* Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy healthcare setting
