Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Job description:
- Location: Groveland, FL
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM (may transition to 5:00 PM–5:00 AM with overtime)
- Compensation: Starting at $18.00/hour, with potential for higher rate upon hire
- Availability: Must be open to mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and holidays
Overview
Step into a hands-on role that keeps our production process moving. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll work outdoors in an industrial environment, preparing and handling organic materials essential to our operation. You’ll operate loaders and other heavy equipment to maintain consistent material flow, shape stockpiles, and uphold strict environmental and safety standards. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in active, physical work and takes pride in precision and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare organic mixes using a Bill of Materials to ensure accurate proportions
- Supply shaker lines with steady, uninterrupted material flow
- Push, shape, and maintain material piles in compliance with Department of Environmental Health Services requirements
- Perform pre-operation safety inspections and equipment checks
- Receive, verify, and submit load tickets to inventory office personnel
- Safely refuel equipment using electrical diesel pumps
- Monitor stockpile temperature, moisture levels, and overall quality
- Operate and perform minor maintenance on loaders and dozers
- Maintain high standards of product quality and production volume
Required Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment (loaders/dozers)
- Strong ability to shape and secure stockpile slopes for safe operations
- Comfortable working long hours in dusty, hot, or inclement outdoor conditions
- Physically capable of repeatedly climbing in and out of large equipment
- Solid understanding of safe work practices and procedures
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and communicate effectively in English
