This role ensures that HR practices support organizational goals while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare organizations. The HR Manager provides leadership and direction for the HR Generalist and is responsible for managing employee relations, performance management processes, policy implementation, and strategic workforce initiatives. This position partners closely with leadership to support staff development, maintain a positive workplace culture, and ensure BHC remains compliant with employment laws and healthcare regulations. Duties and Responsibilities HR Leadership and Oversight Provide direct supervision and guidance to the HR Generalist Oversee HR workflows including onboarding, employee records, compliance documentation, and offboarding processes Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied across all BHC locations Serve as a strategic HR partner to leadership and management teams Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to support organizational decision-making Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations concerns and workplace issues Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary action, and conflict resolution Lead investigations related to employee complaints, workplace conduct, or policy violations Support managers in developing performance improvement plans (PIPs) and corrective action plans Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture aligned with BHC values Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations Maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with healthcare compliance requirements Oversee employee credentialing, background checks, and HR compliance documentation Support regulatory compliance requirements related to healthcare operations and accreditation standards Assist leadership with risk mitigation and documentation related to employment matters Talent Management and Workforce Planning Support recruitment strategies and workforce planning initiatives Collaborate with leadership to identify staffing needs and organizational growth opportunities Oversee onboarding programs to ensure new employees receive consistent training and orientation Support employee retention initiatives and workplace engagement efforts Assist in the development of career pathways and professional development opportunities for staff Performance Management Lead the annual performance review process across departments Provide managers with guidance on goal setting, evaluations, and feedback conversations Monitor employee performance trends and recommend development strategies Support leadership in identifying high-potential employees and succession planning opportunities Policy Development and Implementation Assist in the development and maintenance of employee handbooks, HR policies, and workplace guidelines Ensure policies are updated to reflect changes in employment law and healthcare regulations Communicate policy updates and provide training when necessary Benefits & Strategic Projects Lead annual benefits renewal process, including benchmarking plan options, negotiating with brokers/vendors, and presenting recommendations Design and execute the annual Open Enrollment strategy, including the creation of employee education materials, hosting informational sessions, and ensuring system readiness. Monitor benefit utilization trends and costs to identify opportunities for plan improvements or cost-saving measures. Lead high-level HR projects such as the implementation of new HRIS modules, compensation market analysis, and the development of long-term succession plans. Ensure all benefit programs remain in strict compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Experience 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience Prior supervisory or management experience preferred Experience supporting multi-location organizations preferred Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated environments strongly preferred Certifications (Preferred) Preferred Experience Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Ability to provide coaching and support to leadership and staff Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with operational responsibilities Starting pay $30.00 - $40.00 per hour Supportive and collaborate team environment & Opportunities for advancement and leadership Package for Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays As part of the onboarding process, all successful candidates will be required to complete Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) and undergo a background check, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
