The Full-Time Utility Sr. Assistant Supervisor is the part of the Utility supervisorial staff. This role will have a strong focus on building high-performing team members. The primary responsibility of the Utility Sr. Assistant Supervisor is to ensure that all customer service standards are met. The customer service standards that are included but not limited are: Safety, Professionalism, Presentation and Efficiency within the team members and with any other cross-functional managers within the building. This position is also responsible for appropriately maintaining/preparing for the expected business volumes within Utility, Utility Support Attendant, Grounds departments during the peak and non-peak season. Sr. Assistant Supervisor also works to ensure smooth operations between departments by maintaining open communications, providing feedback, and sharing the input to the supervisorial staff.


This position will be scheduled in a rotation with other team leaders on weekends, evenings, holidays, early morning shifts, and late evening operating hours. This position is also responsible for working closely with inter-departmental managers in delivering sales goals, support Hersheys Chocolate Worlds marketing initiatives, help in executing special events.


This position requires focus on exceptional customer service and expects the individual to be approachable, courteous, knowledgeable about our products, able to clearly communicate with guests/customers and assist them with general questions with high level of professionalism.


This position is located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance for this position.


Summary of Major Duties:


  • Demonstrate and role model The Hershey Company values, The Hersheys Chocolate Worlds leadership pledge and the Hersheys Chocolate Worlds service pledge
  • Uphold HCWs customer service expectations and prepare the department appropriately for the expected business level
  • Maintaining schedules of the employees in Utility, OSS and Utility Grounds by using Workfoce system to ensure proper coverage based on the business needs, ensuring office and building dailies are completed, and making appropriate changes are made as needed
  • Facilitate employee training such as first day training, equipment and chemical usage, customer service training, department summit meetings and safety trainings
  • Provide informational actions as well as appropriate coaching and counseling of flex force employees as needed
  • Facilitate employee rewards and recognition programs, taking the leadership role by demonstrating best practices
  • Effectively communicate to all employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about promotions, marketing initiatives and special events that impact the team
  • Assist with and document, CYOCB operations in completion of weekly and monthly Utility responsibilities
  • Welcome and check-in employees at start of shift, ensure they are in proper uniform and make sure breaks are taken in accordance with HCW policy.
  • Assisting with Utility department daily operations and record attendance issues of Flex Force (FF) Employees in Attendance Tracker
  • Ensure all employees are in compliance with utility policies as well as building safety initiatives to ensure safe cleanup of bodily spills and biohazards, as well as safe use of chemicals and equipment. In evacuation situations, the Utility Associate should be prepared to take attendance at the meeting place of all of their assigned employees to ensure a safe evacuation
  • Respond to first responder calls of employee medical issues and report to Health Services

Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:


  • Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards
  • Must have the ability to react quickly to changing operational situations
  • Must function effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate and efficient
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow coworkers
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 25-50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop and walk for 5-8 hours every shift
  • Strong understanding of Safety Data Sheets, Personal Protective Equipment, Cleaning Chemical Safety, and certain OSHA regulations
  • Overhead lifting may be required
  • Must be willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
  • Must be willing to be First Aid/AED/CPR certified
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as outlined on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis to included, but not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, trash pick-up, washing, and sanitizing surfaces

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in Utility or customer service in service-oriented environment or the combination of both is required.
  • Previous experience in leadership role is preferred but not required
