At Farias Family Law, we are a small but growing law firm looking for a Full-Time Virtual Rockstar Paralegal for our Massachusetts Divorce & Custody Firm.

We are looking for someone who has great people skills and would love managing clients and their cases, is comfortable with technology, loves divorce and family law, and is excited about personal and professional growth and working with an awesome team!

The position is for 40 hrs per week and the pay starts at $45,000 - $65,000 per year depending on skills and experience, with opportunities for bonuses. We offer paid time off and opportunity for retirement contributions and medical insurance reimbursement.

The position is also a perfect launching point for more advanced admin, management and leadership positions at the firm.

We run a mostly virtual operation, but have some staff in our main office in Fall River, MA.

Responsibilities
  • Managing Clients
    • Being the main point of contact with the client throughout the case.
    • Keeping client appraised of case developments
    • Educating client re: filings, scheduling, and case progress
  • Manage Cases
    • Ensure all deadlines are met and ensuring compliance with court rules
    • Ensure case objectives are pursued and met
    • Ensure case is progressing through necessary stages
    • Ensuring case properly managed in CRM and Case Management System
    • Assist attorney with strategy, planning, financial and legal analysis, and preparation for events
    • Scheduling and managing phone/video calls with third parties and clients
    • Communicating with opposing party/opposing counsel about case progress and planning.
    • Updating and Organizing Case Summaries
    • Draft Legal Documents and ensure theyre properly filed
  • Manage Discovery
    • Draft discovery requests and follow up to collect answers/documents
    • Schedule depositions and assist attorney with preparation
    • Respond to discovery requests, including draft responses, assisting client with responses and gathering documents
    • Doc Management: downloading, labeling, sorting and organizing, cleanup folders, share docs with clients
