Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety-critical system development in compliance with ISO 26262. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety integrity of automotive embedded systems through rigorous analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Technical Safety Concept (TSC), including safety goals (SG), functional safety requirements (FSR), and technical safety requirements (TSR).
- Perform system safety analyses (FTA, DFMEA, FMEA, etc.) to identify and mitigate risks in automotive systems.
- Define, validate, and document safety requirements to align with ISO 26262 standards.
- Create and manage project safety plans, safety test plans, and safety cases throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into design and development processes.
- Utilize tools like Polarion and Medini for requirements management, safety analysis, and documentation.
- Support validation and verification activities to ensure compliance with functional safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in functional safety engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 and its application to embedded systems.
- Expertise in safety analysis methods (FTA, DFMEA) and requirements engineering.
- Familiarity with automotive embedded software and hardware architectures.
- Proficiency with functional safety tools: Medini, Polarion, or similar.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Certification in functional safety (e.g., CFSE, ASPICE).
- Experience with AUTOSAR, CAN/LIN communication protocols, or automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
