Shape Futures in Northumberland – Become a 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor Location: Northumberland (NE24 and surrounding areas) Pay: £25–£30 per hour Hours: Flexible daytime hours (8:00am–4:00pm, term time) Are you passionate about helping learners build confidence in Functional Skills English and/or Maths? Do you enjoy delivering personalised 1:1 tuition and making a real difference? TP Tutors is actively recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across Northumberland. You’ll work on a 1:1 basis, delivering tailored tuition in learners’ homes or local libraries. What We Offer Competitive pay of £25–£30 per hour, depending on experience and referral Flexible daytime hours during term time The opportunity to make a real impact through individualised Functional Skills support Local placements within NE24 and nearby areas Ongoing support from a friendly and experienced team About the Role As a 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor, you will: Deliver Functional Skills English and/or Maths lessons Build confidence and independence through personalised learning Plan & adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs and learning styles Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment Provide feedback on learner progress where required Who We’re Looking For Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths Strong understanding of safeguarding principles Patient, reliable, and encouraging approach Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential A current Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) or willingness to obtain one Committed to supporting learner progress Ready to Make a Difference? If you’re motivated, dependable, and passionate about helping learners succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
