Will require working outside during cold or hot weather. May require lifting objects of ~20 lbs.

Shift
Weekdays between 8:00 am 5:00 pm and weekends.

Job Summary
Collecting, recording, and entering scale insect data from field samples. Assisting graduate students with field-based data collection in urban trees. Watering and caring for greenhouse plants and shrubs planted below study trees. Assisting with lab equipment organization and lab inventory. Sorting arthropods from field samples. Assisting with data collection for grad student projects.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Ability to recognize different insect orders, background in entomology, ability to use a dissecting/binocular microscope.

Preferred Education/Experience
Entomology coursework, gardening or plant care experience, field research experience, familiarity with tools such as hand pruners, trowels, shovels, and GPS units, familiarity with binocular/dissecting microscopes. Natural Resources & Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental & sustainability studies, Horticultural sciences, Sustainable Agriculture and Community Food Systems, Forestry, or Landscape architecture majors preferred.
