5G SA Lab Validation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled 5G SA Validation Engineer to join our Packet Core Lab
validation Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on 5G and 4G Packet Gateway
and emerging technologies such as network slicing and mobile edge computing. You will gain
hands-on experience with 5G Gateway -SMF and UPF as well as exposure to various Core
vendor technologies and advanced network features.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Component Validation: Conduct rigorous validation and testing of 5G SA network
  • components, including the SMF and UPF, focusing on ensuring seamless integration
  • and performance.
  • Interface Testing: Validate essential network interfaces such as N4 (SMF to UPF), N3
  • (User Plane), N2 (SMF to AMF), and N1 (UE to AMF), along with protocols like GTP-U,
  • SCTP, HTTP/2, and Diameter.
  • Protocol and Standards Analysis: Analyze and validate critical protocols and industry
  • standards for 5G and LTE, including Rx, Gx, Sy, N11, N10 and N7.
  • Interoperability Testing: Perform interoperability testing for 5G Gateway nodes with
  • Policy, IMS nodes, and Charging Systems.
  • New Technologies Exposure: Gain knowledge and hands-on experience with
  • emerging technologies such as network slicing, mobile edge computing, virtualization,
  • and containerization.
  • Vendor Systems Understanding: Develop expertise in core networking systems from
  • multiple vendors, including Nokia and Cisco, and understand how these systems support
  • end-to-end network functionality.
  • End-to-End Network Understanding: Grasp the entire network architecture and how
  • new cutting-edge features and hardware are integrated, from concept to reality.
  • Collaboration: Engage with IMS design, Packet Core Design, Operations and Device
  • Validation teams to support and enhance the overall network and service performance.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in validating 5G SA network components
  • with a focus on SMF and UPF, and experience in Packet Core testing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in validating network interfaces and protocols for 5G and
  • LTE, including N4, N3, N2, N1, Rx, Gx, Sy, N11, and N7.
  • Standards Knowledge: Solid understanding of 5G and LTE standards, with hands-on
  • experience in core network functionalities.
  • Vendor Exposure: Experience with or understanding of Cisco or Nokia Gateway
  • SMF/UPF) , as well as containerized platforms.
  • Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with network slicing, mobile edge computing,
  • virtualization, and containerization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills for diagnosing
  • and resolving complex network issues.
  • Communication: Excellent documentation and communication skills for effective
  • collaboration with cross-functional teams.
