Gage Technician St Shift Position Apply
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Gage/Quality Technician to join our team on the 1st shift. This position is crucial for supporting our manufacturing operations and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of gages used in automotive manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and managing gages, conducting gage correlation studies, and collaborating with quality engineers to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gage Management: Maintain and track all gages used in manufacturing, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Gage Calibration: Conduct regular gage calibration and maintain accurate calibration activity records.
- Gage Correlation Studies: Perform gage correlation studies to ensure the consistency and reliability of measurements across different gages.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality engineers to ensure gages meet all required standards and specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of gage calibration, maintenance, and correlation studies.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and address issues with gages and measurement devices, ensuring minimal downtime in manufacturing operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all gages and measurement devices comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of gage management processes.
Requirements
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality technician role, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Skills:
- Proficient in using and calibrating various gages and measurement devices.
- Strong understanding of gage correlation studies and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with quality engineers and other team members.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in quality assurance or gage calibration are a plus.
- Additional Requirements: Undergo a background check following local laws and regulations and successfully pass a drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- Shift: 2nd Shift Hours are 2:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and overtime as needed
- Environment: Manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move gages and equipment as needed.
