The Gardener is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beauty of the gardens and landscaping managed by the Making A Difference Foundation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and a desire to contribute to the foundation's mission of providing healthy food options for the community.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week, which will include flexible hours based on the needs of the garden and the planting schedules.

Responsibilities include:

- Planting, watering, weeding, and maintaining garden beds

- Harvesting fruits and vegetables during the growing season

- Assisting with the design and layout of garden spaces

- Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient usage

- Collaborating with volunteers and interns to help educate them about sustainable gardening practices

- Monitoring plant health and identifying any pest or disease issues

- Keeping detailed records of garden activities, including planting dates and harvest yields

- Participating in community outreach events to promote the garden and its benefits

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of gardening practices and techniques, including organic gardening

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication skills

- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Previous gardening or landscaping experience preferred

- Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in various weather conditions

- A passion for sustainable agriculture and community service
