The Piano Company in Leesburg, Virginia is actively seeking a part-time General Employee and Sales Associate.
The Piano Company is a family-owned, small business with locations at Dulles Town Center, Leesburg Premium Outlets, and our main store at 206 East Market Street.
We are the authorized dealer for Kawai pianos and have a wide selection of brands for our diverse customers.
This is a part time job (less than 40 hours a week) and work location may be subject to change depending on the day.
Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a General Employee & Sales Associate.
This role combines customer service, sales, and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the store.
As a key member of our store, you will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining inventory, and supporting the overall operations of the store. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in sales, providing expertise and product knowledge to help customers find the perfect piano.From assisting with sales transactions to maintaining the showroom's pristine appearance, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every customer receives top-notch service.
As a representative of The Piano Company, you'll be the friendly face greeting our customers and guiding them through their piano-buying journey. Whether it's answering inquiries, organizing inventory, or collaborating with team members, your attention to detail and passion for the piano will shine through in every interaction.
This is a great opportunity for someone with retail sales experience who enjoys interacting with people and has a passion for sales.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Know and provide product information and demonstrate features through product demos
- Assist customers in making purchasing decisions
- Maintain a clean and organized sales area and organized store environment to enhance the customer experience and ensuring a pleasant shopping environment for our customers
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
- Provide exceptional and personalized customer service by assisting customers in finding the right piano and answering their inquiries
- Employees are to have a through understanding about the parts of the pianos, features of each brand, and know different types of pianos sold at our stores
- Be responsible for promoting and selling our products to customers
- Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently using cashier machines and recording the sales on paper
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, restocking shelves, notifying relevant parties about low inventory, etc
- Collaborate with team members to achieve a high quality work environment, uphold the companys standards, uphold sales objectives, and contribute to the overall success of the store
Experience:
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred
- Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred
- Knowledge and/or passion for piano
- Knowledge of basic math for processing transactions accurately
- Strong efficiency skills to manage inventory and keep track of sales records
- Able to learn independently and highly skilled in researching topics
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Apple Pages, Numbers, and Keynote
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with customers effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Have a consistent work schedule and arrive to the stores early or on time
- Ability to work independently unsupervised and as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred
- Knowledge of pianos and musical instruments is preferred but not required
- The ability to demonstrate a piano by playing a musical piece
- Speak English fluently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Enthusiasm for providing outstanding customer service and creating memorable experiences for our customers
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Have a bank account that accepts payroll direct deposit
- Legally able to work in the United States
