General Clerk Document Prep Apply
Program Description: The purpose of this project is to provide document/file conversion of historical media archives and recently received document/file [variety of different paper Tax Documents (Forms and Schedules) and Correspondence] into a digital computer-readable format for the IRS. The project will receive, control, and convert source materials to standardized, indexed, and searchable Portable Document Format (PDF) (PDF Image plus Text) electronic documents for an estimated 57 million images.
Position Description: The General Clerk I follows clearly detailed procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coding and filing documents.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing documents for scanning. This may include the following:
- Reviewing documents for presence of certain information.
- Code Doc ID and Received Date as needed.
- Fix and repair small rips or tears with tape, remove staples, paperclips, etc.
- Utilizing sort sheets as directed.
- Make copies as needed.
- Reference work instructions as needed.
- Required to attend mandatory meetings and trainings, work scheduled overtime with minimal notice, and perform other duties as assigned per business needs.
Training and Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. Overtime may be required throughout the week and/or on Saturdays. *Please note that holidays often fall upon Mondays. When this occurs, Tuesdays are heavier in workload.
Requirements
Years of Experience: 2 years of experience preferred
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks and security clearances.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
