Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a General Manager - Manufacturing, located in Valparaiso, IN. The General Manager will oversee manufacturing operations of a steel related facility, manage production planning, and drive operational excellence to meet defined metrics. Responsibilities include setting budgets, supervising day-to-day production processes, and ensuring operational and cost efficiencies. Additionally, the role involves fostering continuous improvement and aligning operations with strategic company goals.

Oversee all facility functions, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, finance, human resources, and sales.

Qualifications

• Experience with sales is required. This role combines operations and sales.
• Proficiency in Production Planning and expertise in streamlining manufacturing operations
• Strong skills in Operations Management with a focus on achieving Operational Excellence
• Experience in Budgeting and financial management within an operational context
• Experience with slightly custom (non-homogeneous) products is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership abilities, communication skills, and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to implement process improvements and drive organizational efficiency
• Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and regulatory compliance. Plant experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior manufacturing or operations management role
