This opportunity offers an experienced hospitality professional the chance to lead a service-oriented team and oversee daily operations at a highly regarded property in Big Bear, California. As General Manager, you will be at the forefront of guest service, operational excellence, and revenue growth, playing a key role in shaping the property's reputation within a rapidly evolving market.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest experiences and maintain high online reputation scores.
- Manage full property P&L responsibility, including budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting.
- Drive revenue through occupancy, ADR, and booking channel strategies.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop on-site staff; establish performance standards and accountability.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture and effectively manage seasonal staffing requirements.
- Partner with ownership on revenue management and marketing initiatives; optimize OTA and direct booking channels.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and oversee vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with all regulations and safety standards.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of hospitality management experience (preferably in boutique hotel, lodge, or resort settings).
- Strong track record managing budgets and driving revenue outcomes.
- Proven operational leadership with hands-on management style.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience overseeing guest service excellence and maintaining property standards.
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and revenue platforms.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop on-site team members.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with seasonal resort operations or mountain destination markets.
- Background managing OTA relationships and optimizing booking channels.
- Direct experience engaging with local tourism boards or business community partnerships.
- Ability to identify and implement strategies for increasing direct bookings.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and vendor management practices.
