This opportunity offers an experienced hospitality professional the chance to lead a service-oriented team and oversee daily operations at a highly regarded property in Big Bear, California. As General Manager, you will be at the forefront of guest service, operational excellence, and revenue growth, playing a key role in shaping the property's reputation within a rapidly evolving market.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest experiences and maintain high online reputation scores.
  • Manage full property P&L responsibility, including budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting.
  • Drive revenue through occupancy, ADR, and booking channel strategies.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop on-site staff; establish performance standards and accountability.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture and effectively manage seasonal staffing requirements.
  • Partner with ownership on revenue management and marketing initiatives; optimize OTA and direct booking channels.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and oversee vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with all regulations and safety standards.


Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of hospitality management experience (preferably in boutique hotel, lodge, or resort settings).
  • Strong track record managing budgets and driving revenue outcomes.
  • Proven operational leadership with hands-on management style.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience overseeing guest service excellence and maintaining property standards.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and revenue platforms.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop on-site team members.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with seasonal resort operations or mountain destination markets.
  • Background managing OTA relationships and optimizing booking channels.
  • Direct experience engaging with local tourism boards or business community partnerships.
  • Ability to identify and implement strategies for increasing direct bookings.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and vendor management practices.
