A growing industrial metal manufacturer is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations at their Liberal, Kansas facility. This role is responsible for overseeing plant operations and performance across safety, production, quality, and people leadership, while supporting continued growth and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a safety-first manufacturing environment and brings strong experience managing teams in metal-based manufacturing operations. Relocation support offered for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day plant operations across production, safety, quality, maintenance, and scheduling
• Champion and enforce a strong safety culture across all departments
• Manage and develop supervisors and production teams to improve performance and engagement
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, and cost control
• Coordinate closely with engineering, sales, and supply chain teams to meet customer commitments
• Monitor KPIs and implement action plans to improve operational performance
• Support workforce planning, hiring, training, and retention strategies
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of plant leadership experience (General Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, or similar)
• Experience in metal fabrication, structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels, or related industrial manufacturing
• Spanish-speaking ability required (professional working proficiency)
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety leadership
• Strong team leadership and employee development experience
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution
• Experience improving production processes and implementing continuous improvement initiatives preferred
