General Manager – Wire Harness & Cable Assembly

Location: Morgan Hill, CA

Salary: $185,000 – $220,000

Our client is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead a high-mix, low-volume wire harness and cable assembly operation supporting aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and industrial customers.

This is a full P&L ownership role with responsibility across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The ideal candidate is a player-coach leader who thrives on the production floor, driving performance, improving on-time delivery, and building strong leadership across operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all plant operations (Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance)
• Drive OTD, throughput, and schedule adherence in a high-mix environment
• Own site P&L including cost control, labor efficiency, and margin improvement
• Strengthen planning, purchasing, and supplier performance
• Implement Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, root cause, PDCA)
• Maintain strong floor presence and lead real-time problem solving
• Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, ITAR standards

Qualifications

• 7+ years manufacturing leadership experience (wire harness/cable assembly strongly preferred)
• Proven P&L ownership and cross-functional leadership
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume production
• Strong Lean/continuous improvement background
• ERP/MRP experience
