General Manager - Splash

At , we’re building the first national brand in pools.

The pool care market is well established, customers are recurring and sticky, and the competitive landscape is fragmented and low-tech. As of today, there is no national brand in pool cleaning and no law of nature that says there can't be — so we're going to build one.

We're a team of experienced home services entrepreneurs with a track record of scaling national home services brands. We're doing it again in pools, and are on a mission to create a household name in pool care.

We're starting in San Diego, and are looking to hire a talented General Manager to run our San Diego operations. If you have experience running a services business (bonus points for home services in particular), we'd love to chat.

What we're looking for:

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee and drive the growth of Splash's operations, starting in San Diego, and scaling regionally from there. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and leadership skills. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our pool cleaning business, from day-to-day operations to long-term strategic planning. This is a hands-on, highly generalist role.

What you'll be responsible for:

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, route optimization, and job quality. Keep the machine running efficiently and smoothly.
  • Support the team in the field, jump in and fight fires where needed.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all roles in the business. Build the systems and processes to help us scale.

Pool Expertise

  • Quickly develop technical expertise in all things pool care. You don't need to be a pool expert to start, but will need to learn the ins and outs of the business quickly.

Customer Service

  • Own the customer service function end-to-end.
  • Hire new reps, manage their performance, and work to improve how we serve our customers.
  • Track customer satisfaction scores, SLAs, call performance, and other performance metrics, and work to improve them over time.
  • Continue to evolve our customer service systems to help them scale and help our team deliver a better customer experience.

Sales

  • Learn how to quote both residential and commercial pools. Understand how to handle objections, position our services, and close customers.
  • Hire and manage a sales team. Track performance, and work to improve conversion rates.

Financial Management

  • Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze financial performance.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on operational and financial metrics to Splash exec team.

People / HR

  • Work with our Service Manager to recruit, train, and manage a team of pool cleaning technicians.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance evaluations. Build a machine that attracts the best people, helps them perform their best, and keeps them long-term.
  • Learn how to hire great technicians, identify good techs from bad, and manage technician performance over time.

Bluesky Projects

  • Think through how pool service is currently being delivered.
  • Leverage new technology, processes, or strategies to improve efficiency, deliver a better customer experience, and reinvent the industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the service industry. Experience in home services (e.g., pool cleaning, HVAC, pest control, plumbing, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling operations and driving business growth.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
  • You know how to hire, cultivate, and lead a high-performing team.
  • You live in, or are willing to move to sunny San Diego, CA.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.
  • Opportunity to work with a small, smart, driven team to drive a huge impact on a very large, thoroughly antiquated industry.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and more.

If this sounds like an unusually good fit, we'd love to hear from you. Shoot us a note and tell us more about 1) how amazing you are, and 2) your experience running similar service-based companies.

Let's do some incredible work together.
