General Production Hour Apply
Production facility is seeking Sit Down Forklift Operators, Clamp Forklift Operators, Baler Operators, Bander Operators and Sheet Line Operators on 3rd Shift. Position will be determined based on skills and availability during orientation and training.
Available Shifts:
- 3rd Shift - 10:00PM to 6:00AM - $20.25/hr
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts frequently
Baler Job Duties:
- Feed various grades of cardboard and paper onto the Baler conveyor consistently and effectively to maximize the value of the products sorted.
- Keep sorted material supplied to the baler and enable continued processing operation.
- Maintain a neat and orderly unfinished inventory area by properly stacking empty gaylords and picking up debris off the floor.
- Maximize the Baled Value of the materials and minimize the labor costs of the baling operation by planning and staging the material.
- Responsible for all activities associated with safely running the baler including operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations
- Make good, neat bales
- Operate Shredder and shred all unusable paper and corrugated scrap
- Assist in two-man feeds as necessary
- Maintain accurate bale reports
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
- Responsible for picking up scrap outside the building
Bander Job Duties:
- Properly band unites as they come down the conveyor, watching for quality issues, and ensuring units move to correct conveyor line to shipping
- Clear jams in a safe manner and in accordance with company's lock out tag out procedure
- Check load tags against size of unit to ensure accuracy
- Ensure proper dunnage is applied before banding
- Band units to correct banding patterns
- Ensure exiting units are on the correct discharge line
- Reload bander with full rolls when banding runs out
- Keep work area stocked with top/cover sheets
Sheet Line Operator Job Duties:
- Match load tags with units, measuring all units, and continuously inspecting all units for quality
- Measure and inspect all units and report any discrepancies immediately
- Match load tags with units ensuring dimensions and scores are accurate
- Restack all units that are less than excellent in squareness
- Arrange units together as specified by customer, shipping or editing needs; following all special instructions
- Scrap bad sheets and zero cuts from units, making sure all adjustments are added to the load tag
- Insert bottom dunnage that properly fits unitization (cross banding/one way banding)
Required Skills:
- Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously
- Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members
- Ability to recognize numbers and number sequences
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic
- Must be able to read a tape measure
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb and balance
- Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Possess ability to regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently step up and down from platform, and bend at the waist
