GENERAL SALES MANAGER – DURHAM REGION

Our client a successful GTA dealer group with dealerships in the Durham Region has an immediate requirement for an experienced Sales Manager to join their growing domestic OEM dealership.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the profitable operation of the vehicle sales department by meeting or exceeding sales and customer satisfaction targets.
This is a demanding hands-on position that requires direct involvement and leadership in all aspects of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the General Manager to plan and manage new and used vehicle inventory, forecast monthly sales and expenses and develop promotions and advertising plans.
  • Engage and motivate your sales team to achieve key goals, performance expectations, and best practice processes.
  • Assist individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provide them with the support to meet these goals.
  • Lead your sales staff in creating an exceptional purchase experience for all customers.
  • Resolve any customer complaints, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is obtained.
  • Ensure new and used car lots are well maintained, presentable and organized.
  • Keep updated on all manufacturer and financial institutions current product, programs and promotions and ensure that all staff understand factory programs.
  • Promote ongoing training, including regular sales team meetings.
  • Manage Internet sales initiatives.
  • Ensure that all required provincial licensing and regulatory requirements are followed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of successful experience in Automotive Sales Management; 5 years of automotive sales experience.
    Domestic product experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals while excelling in customer service.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding leader, trainer and coach
  • Able to foster a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Well-organized and detail-orientated.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Business-related social media management experience an asset.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and Saturdays.
  • OMVIC certification in addition to a valid Ontario driver’s licence.
